On the Rocks
I've taken on the challenge from Trifecta to write 33 words about love gone wrong but without using love, sad, tears, wept, heart or pain. Here is my take...
I'm trying to explain to the kids why mummy left, why there
is no money and why she left a pile of whisky bottles behind her. We are abandoned for her next drink.
Oh such sadness and tragedy in such few words, but so well done.
ReplyDeleteYour heart hurts for these characters.
This is a sad situation and definitely hard to put into words kids can understand.
ReplyDeleteTo be left to her hunt for liquor.. can't be more sad than that.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad when you choose your addiction over your kids! ♥
ReplyDeleteYow. No good explanation for that one, nope.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's always a next drink to be found. Many, much younger than the first...
ReplyDeleteWow. Tragic, harsh, just very, very sad. Thanks for linking up and don't forget to vote!
ReplyDeleteLove Troy's response above. Indeed! This is a sad reality sometimes, I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteAbandonment for any reason is so terribly sad for the kids, but for an addiction, equally so.
ReplyDeleteOuch. Truly sad stuff.
ReplyDeleteUgh. What a sad circumstance.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow. The realness of this makes it a heartbreaking tale.
ReplyDeleteOuch, that's painful for sure. Having to deal with it is one thing; having to explain it to the kids... Nice job.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad piece with heartbreaking words. Very good job on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteThat's heartbreaking.
ReplyDeletePowerful, heartbreaking, and yes, near impossible to explain in a kid-appropriate way.
ReplyDeleteHeart breaking piece!
ReplyDeleteThat is wrong.
