Research and the Author

Rather than add all the articles together, as I do when I dedicate a page to fiction, I've collected together all the links. This will, I hope, allow you to dip in as and when you feel like it, and you can pick and choose your topics depending on what you need and what you would like to read.

I think it's important to state upfront - I am utterly and completely unqualified to post these articles. I haven't taken courses or got certificates, and parts of my basic education were so bad that they're worse than missing. However I have a relentless sense of curiosity, an erratically good memory, and failure to get details correct drives me insane. If you add in an irrationally wide spread of interests, then I hope that I have enough to start others on their own research journey.

And as I know that I make mistakes, I'd love to hear what you think about these articles, the things I've got wrong, and how you would see these topics. After all, learning new things is all part of the wonder and I'd rather learn something new than cling on to what I think is right.

Happy writing!

The reason that you stop doing research is to avoid boring your reader and losing your sanity.
